The Harvest: How to Best Enjoy Your Newfound Fitness

Lower body weight, increased strength and better-fitting clothes are just some of the obvious benefits of getting healthy. When working out and keeping an eye on your nutrition become “the norm,” an endless list of benefits follow.

If you’ve been working out with us for a while, here are some of the activities you might enjoy now that you’ve begun to master the art of making fitness a priority:

Pick up a new fitness hobby that challenges you.

There’s more out there than just lifting weights. In recent decades, the fitness world has greatly expanded to include a myriad of new, challenging sports that don’t require much formal training (and aren’t just reserved for the guys!) From trail running to mountain biking and triathlons, many of our members are challenging themselves in new ways. Most of the time, these new hobbies can unfold by following an endurance athlete on social media (hello, David Goggins) or stumbling across a cool event in your area that incorporates multiple sports. Consider branching out and trying a new sport this season — you might be surprised by what you’re capable of doing now!

Nerd out and attend a workshop!

Remember when words like EMOM and AMRAP sounded like a foreign language? You might not even realize it, but in the past months or years of coming to the gym, you’ve picked up an entirely new skillset. This is the time to invest in yourself and dive deeper. Attend a workshop (we’re hosting a gymnastics workshop at the end of the month!), take an online nutrition course or check out a book that specifically speaks to an area of fitness that piques your interest. Now that you have the vocabulary down, now is the time to refine, refine, refine!

Start sharing your knowledge.

If you’ve been hitting the gym for a while, chances are that your peers know it. You’ve lost some weight, you’ve toned up and, well, everyone can see there is a little extra pep in your step! Now is the time to begin telling others about your newfound appreciation for fitness. Invite a friend to the gym, post a before and after on Instagram, start sharing your favorite meal-prep hacks on Facebook. It might be hard to believe, but you have some street-cred when it comes to putting your health first! If you’re not an “open book,” it might feel funny sharing your story at first. But, we promise, people want to know all about the “magic pill” you’ve found.

In conclusion:

Remember, you are on a fitness JOURNEY! What might be challenging right now will soon become routine. Continue to challenge yourself and embrace new goals. This mindset will help you to continue pushing your limits and achieve new victories.
